Linda Montlick Loen 1966 wins the prize for submitting the first alumni update from the Class of 1966—Hamden Hall’s distinguished 50th Reunion Class! Linda writes that the biggest impact Hamden Hall had on her life was the good education she received, along with good preparation for college. She made several friends while at the school where she notes “we grew up together.” After Hamden Hall, Linda spent two years at C.W. Post College before transferring to Southern Connecticut State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in English with a specialization in British Literature. She then began to work and completed two additional master’s degrees at night: the first one in rehabilitation counseling and the second one in social work. She became a licensed clinical social worker. Linda was a social worker for 38 years working with different populations of individuals that needed help. In addition, she has also been a professional artist for 16 years. She is an “elected” artist with Clinton Art Society and one of her pieces is on display at Clinton Town Hall. Linda has two children: Sandra Lynn, 44, and Jason, 36; a devoted husband John Loen; and two “perfect” grandsons, ages 11 and 13. Linda is former board member of the Madison Art Society and Guilford Community Fund. She also helped start a women’s retirement group in Guilford, Conn.
