Educational Excellence Since 1912
Hamden Hall Country Day School
Educating students in PreSchool through Grade 12
The Lower School curriculum is designed to instill a love of learning and personal discovery while providing a solid foundation in all subject areas. We teach core subjects in small, self-contained homeroom classes that enable us to monitor the progress of each individual and differentiate our teaching. Technology is embedded throughout the curriculum to facilitate and enhance learning. Specialists in art, music, science, physical education, world language, and library introduce children to new worlds of knowledge and imagination that broaden their horizons. Cross-curricular collaborations enhance rich, project-based learning in which students can express their unique understanding and perspective with confidence and joy.
"As both a Hamden Hall alumna and now an educator in our classrooms for the past 15 years, I have witnessed the dedication and commitment of my colleagues. We go beyond the academics and act as role models for our students, getting to know each of them as individuals. One of my favorite things about our school community is when I see my former students on campus and they ask for a hug or visit my classroom for a quick conversation or a piece of advice."

- Emily Schimelman 2002, Grade 4 Teacher
