Hamden Hall Country Day School

Educating students in PreSchool through Grade 12
The Lower School curriculum is designed to instill a love of learning and personal discovery while providing a solid foundation in all subject areas. We teach core subjects in small, self-contained homeroom classes that enable us to monitor the progress of each individual and differentiate our teaching. Technology is embedded throughout the curriculum to facilitate and enhance learning. Specialists in art, music, science, physical education, world language, and library introduce children to new worlds of knowledge and imagination that broaden their horizons. Cross-curricular collaborations enhance rich, project-based learning in which students can express their unique understanding and perspective with confidence and joy.
I think the most enjoyable aspect of teaching is when I see a student have an "ah-hah" moment, when something they have learned in class finally makes sense, and they are finally able to figure out how that concept fits into their world."
