Hot Bats for Girls’ Varsity Softball

The Girls’ Varsity Softball Team welcomed Canterbury School for an afternoon game on Wednesday, April 24, winning 6-1.

Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, eighth-grader and starting pitcher Chloe Carling took the mound for all seven innings. Junior Melanie Carling found success at the plate with a triple hit in the first inning that allowed one run to score. Freshman Mia Verderame got two base hits for the Hornets while eighth-grader Teagan Bird stole a base.

Coach Laura Montane commented that it was a tremendous game and all players helped on the field to bring the win home.

The team returns to the field for an away game against The Gunnery on Saturday, April 27, at 2 p.m.
