Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Defeats Canterbury

The Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Team traveled to Canterbury School for a non-league match on Monday, April 8, winning 18-17 in overtime.

It was a back-and-forth effort between the Hornets and the Saints all game. Junior Shane Esposito and freshman Ben Greenberg both netted four goals respectively while junior Niko Millhouse had three goals and four assists. In the fourth quarter, the team found its way back from a five goal deficit to send the game into overtime and eventually claim victory with a complete run and point score on the first possession.

Coach Kiernan Griffin noted that junior and goalie Brian Hong was awarded the game ball as he successfully made 28 saves in the net to notch the final victory.

The team continues its road game series against Cheshire Academy on Wednesday, April 10, at 5:30 p.m.
