Boys’ Varsity Basketball Notch Victory

The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team welcomed St. Thomas More School for an afternoon game on Monday, January 22, winning 58-53. 

Taking the court at the Beckerman Athletic Center, senior Alex Prezioso netted 16 points as fellow senior Ryan Stratton added 14 points to the scoreboard for the Hornets. The second half of the game saw action from senior Mason Gorham, juniors Nate McCleery and Jaden Iannacone, and sophomore Amato Civitello. 

“We fought until the very end, and this time it paid off for us,” said Alex. “It was a battle on both ends of the court, but every single player on the team played an important role in pulling it off in the end.” 

Coach Sean Doherty noted that the defensive plays and the relentless pressure on the opponents really got the team the win. 

The team returns home for a game against Lexington Christian Academy on Wednesday, January 24, at 5 p.m.
