Back-to-Back Wins for Girls’ Varsity Basketball

The Girls’ Varsity Basketball Team welcomed Columbia Prep for a home game on Saturday, January 6, winning 77-50.

Taking the court at the Beckerman Athletic Center, the Lady Hornets were in control for most of the game with great ball movement and key defensive plays. Sophomore Reilly Chernovetz led the team with 24 points and eight rebounds while junior Mackenzie Mori netted 21 points with eight rebounds and five assists. Junior Summer Krajcir and freshman Mary Ganim kept the action going with a combined 29 points added to the scoreboard.

“The team is so new to each other so it was super to see some nice connected movement on both sides of the ball,” said Coach Brian Johnson. “Overall, great win for the team.”

The team also won its Friday night game against Millbrook School with a score of 58-42.

The team returns to the court against Greenwich Country Day School on Wednesday, January 10, at 4:45 p.m.
