Dual-Meet Victory for Varsity Swimming and Diving

The Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving Team competed against Christian Heritage School, Covenant of Sacred Heart, and Williams School in a dual-meet on Saturday, February 4.

For the Boys’ Team, sophomores Anthony Ferneini and Parker Jones, freshman Cameron Puhl, and eighth-grader Jehan Mody placed first in the 400 Freestyle Relay with a time of 4:10.09. Sophomore Eric Huang placed first in the 200 IM with a time of 2:28.79 while freshman Jack Cucchiarelli placed second in the 100 Backstroke with a time of 1:14.92. Jehan also completed the 1 Meter Diving tallying 101.40 points.

For the Girls’ team, senior Isabella Ferneini placed first in the 50 Free with a time of 26.85. Eighth-grader Alessandra Sticca placed second in the 100 Butterfly with a time of 1:15.37 while junior Mason Rickey also placed second in the 500 Free with a time of 5:42.50.

The Boys’ Team finished the meet with a victory over the Williams School with 141.00 points and over Christian Heritage with 121.00 points. The Girls’ Team won over the Williams School with 77.00 and over Christian Heritage with 82.00 points.

Coach Jen Lyman commented that both teams did extremely well in the meet, and everyone looks forward to the upcoming Fairchester Athletic Association tournament.

The team competes against Ethel Walker School and Wilbraham & Monson Academy in the final regular meet of the season on Wednesday, February 8, at 4 p.m. The Fairchester Athletic Association League Championship begins this weekend with Diving on Friday, February 10, at 5 p.m., at the Brunswick School and Swimming and Diving on Saturday, February 11, at 3 p.m., at Hopkins School.
