Boys’ Varsity Soccer Scores High in Game Matchup

The Boys’ Varsity Soccer team delivered a game-winning match 3-1 against Christian Heritage School on Tuesday afternoon.

Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, the team opened strong with eighth-grader Anton Cruz scoring not only the team’s first point, but his first goal overall. Senior Eric Yan furthered the lead adding one point after finishing a cross from senior Aidan Fernandes. Offensive efforts by midfielder sophomore Tyrese Cedon unleashed a new energy going into the rest of the game.

The Hornets and Kingsmen battled hard through the second half as goalkeeper junior Ethan Berman made a quick save. Freshmen Kaleb Fiore and Alex Romero kept the backline secure as junior Eli O'Hern scored the third and game-winning goal for the team.

Coach Ross Peebles Brown noted the team worked well together and stood strong. Most importantly, he said, the energy of the team set the tone for what turned out to be an exciting game.

The team takes the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex against Fairchester Athletic Association Conference rival Rye Country Day School on September 17 at noon.
