Three Hornets Make Commitments

Bud Kohler
Senior Dennis Gamester will be playing at DI Sacred Heart University in nearby Fairfield next year. Gamester, a catcher, batted .350 as a sophomore, and can hit for power, with a solid "gap to gap" swing. In addition, he possesses a powerful arm to gun down runners from behind the plate.

Senior Michael Coggins will take his game to Husson University in Bangor, Maine. A fabulous team player and natural leader, he hopes to land a starting spot in the Eagles' outfield right away.

Though still only a junior, Cam Maldonado is already a dominating figure on the diamond, and has committed to Northeastern University when he graduates. Cam is a gifted two-way player, with all the tools to play shortstop or third base, but with a dominant arm as well. As a freshman, he pitched 20 innings for the Hornets, striking out 17. Cam also hit .325, with 17 hits and 17 RBIs. He has a quick swing that can generate plenty of punch to all parts of the field.

Congratulations to all three, and all the best for successful college careers.
