Hornet Spirit Ran High During 2019 Reunion & Homecoming

Who’s got the spirit? Hornets had the spirit – both young and old – during 2019 Reunion & Homecoming!

Nearly 50 alumni returned to their alma mater to celebrate milestone reunions during our Reunion Luncheon on Friday, Oct. 11, including several who were celebrating their 60th and 65th reunions! Attendees came from as far away as California, New Orleans, Pennsylvania, and Maryland.

Meanwhile, also on campus, students dressed in school colors, created green and white balloon archways, and painted hornets on their faces to celebrate in style at various Homecoming assemblies and pep rallies.

More revelry ensued the following day at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, where Hornet pride was on display for the the day's sporting contests (victories were had by Girls’ and Boys’ Varsity Soccer, Field Hockey, Cross Country and, to crown the afternoon, Varsity Football, which staged a late comeback to defeat Evergreen league rival New Hampton of New Hampshire 34-31). A strong alumni turnout reconnected throughout the day while Lower School families enjoyed an array of activities including the annual hayride, pumpkin painting, and hula hooping!

"School spirit was alive and well throughout Homecoming week. We had a great turnout on Saturday of families and alumni. Our teams competed hard and enjoyed a good amount of success. They should be proud of the way they represented Hamden Hall. I spoke with lots of alumni, young and old, who were happy to be back at the school and were appropriately impressed with our student-athletes and teams," said Head of School Bob Izzo.
