Boys’ Varsity Basketball Sweeps Opponent

The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team welcomed Storm King School for its first home game on Monday, December 4, winning 94-37.

Taking the court at the Beckerman Athletic Center, junior Ben Miller led the team with 21 points while senior Mason Gorham netted 16 points and juniors Jaden Iannaccone and Nate McCleery added a combined 18 points to the scoreboard.

The Hornets remained in the lead throughout the game with seniors Ethan Bessoni, Alex Prezioso, and Will Sullivan all scoring points. Freshmen and new players Caleb Chapman and Christian Cournoo helped the defense and kept the ball moving.

“It was great getting everyone involved in a big win before we head out for two tough games this week,” said Nate.

Coach Sean Doherty noted that all players had time on the court and it was a success as everyone scored to secure the final victory. The team record is now 2-0.

The team travels to St. Luke’s School for an afternoon game on Wednesday, December 6, at 4:30 p.m.
