Austin Aitro, Cadet, U.S. Air Force

Cadet Third Class Austin Aitro, Class of 2016, finished his first year at the United States Air Force Academy at the end of the 2016-2017 school year.  Over the summer, he completed Expeditionary Survival and Evasion Training as well as Airmanship-251, the cadet glider program, where he earned his glider solo wings. 

Next summer Austin will attend Ops Air Force, where he will spend three weeks at an operational Air Force base to learn more about future careers as well as become a cadre member for the class of 2022's Basic Training. 

Austin is a member of the Cadet Honor Guard that competes in national drill competitions and performs ceremonies that honor the flag and his fellow service members.  Austin is studying aeronautical engineering and hopes to attend Undergraduate Pilot Training when he graduates in 2020.

Austin is the son of Alfred and Vicki Aitro and brother of Samantha Aitro 2021.
