I remember Mr. Russ making his way down the stairs of the science center slowly, so I stopped and held the door open for him. As he walked through, he said thank you and also wished me good luck in an upcoming basketball game, to which I thanked him. However, this shocked me mainly because I was surprised that he knew who I was since I never formally met him and I hadn't been attending Hamden Hall for that long yet. A couple other times we crossed paths while I was with a group of people. But each time there was always a mutual respect for him that stopped the conversation we were all having, to say hello and help him in any way we could, even if he didn't even need it.
