Hamden Hall Country Day School

Educating students in PreSchool through Grade 12
Dear Prospective Parents and Students,

I hope you will spend some time exploring the Middle School information posted here to gain a greater sense of what makes the middle school experience so special at Hamden Hall. For those who teach and advise students in the Middle School, the greatest joy comes from the relationships that we are able to form with students and their families. We feel it is very important to balance real academic rigor with a nurturing approach to each individual child. By getting to know every student well, and partnering with parents to ensure successful academic habits, we are able to help each child reach their potential. Life in the Middle School is filled with dynamic and engaging programs and activities.

What's Happening In Our Halls

We are a small, nurturing community where teachers find a way to reach and push each individual student.
Students experience authentic hands-on learning via division-wide projects, such as the Earth Summit and the Political Convention.
Our MakerSpace, a center for design and innovation, allows students to explore and enables teachers to take class projects in new directions.
With two major productions a year, a seventh-grade chorus, a Glee Club, and Middle School participation in the orchestra, students have myriad opportunities to perform.
An Orientation Camping Trip in seventh grade and a Washington D.C. adventure in eighth grade foster class unity and personal growth.
Hands-on community service is built into the Middle School curriculum with meal preparation for a local shelter and work at urban gardens in New Haven.
