The Girls’ Varsity Softball Team welcomed Greenwich Country Day School for an afternoon game on Thursday, April 13, winning 19-0.
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, sophomore and starting pitcher Payton Collins had a successful game, allowing no hits or runs scored. She added to the scoreboard for the Hornets with an in-park homerun. Sophomore Melanie Carling took to the plate and hit a homerun while fellow sophomore and shortstop Summer Krajcir got the last out to claim the final victory.
Coach Laura Monte noted that the girls did amazing all-around and each individual player on the roster got a hit, which was incredible to watch.
The team returns home on Saturday, April 15, at 3 p.m. to play against Marianapolis School.
