2019 Musician Wins Composition Contest
Darian Simerson, Class of 2019, was the winner of the New Haven Symphony Orchestra’s 2020 composition contest, with his orchestral work The Fallen. The NHSO will perform this work once “normalcy” returns, according to big brother Gabe Simerson, Class of 2016.
Darian is currently a sophomore at Yale University.
Gabe is finishing up a dual degree in political science and music at American University and is scheduled to graduate with a bachelor’s degree in December 2020.
