The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Greens Farms Academy for a home game on Wednesday, May 7, winning 2-1.
Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, junior Nic Scillia took the mound for all seven innings, striking out eight players and only allowing two earned hits.
The Dragons took an early lead against the Hornets in the first inning. At the plate, Nic had one hit and stolen base as sophomore Leo Dottorri also drove in a run to tie the game in the fifth inning. Junior Amato Civitello had an inside the park home run to take the lead and secure the final victory.
Following the win, the team celebrated players Atticus Bird, Logan Charboneau, and Carlos Reyes for its senior night celebration.
The game record is now 10-6 for the season and 9-4 in FAA League play.
The team returns to the field for a rematch game against Greens Farms Academy on Thursday, May 8, at 4:30 p.m.
