Overtime Victory for Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse

The Boys’ Varsity Lacrosse Team traveled to St. Luke’s School for a league game on Thursday, April 24, winning 14-13 in double overtime.

Taking the field, the Hornets were quick on the draw and took an early 7-2 lead going into the second period. However, the Storm was right behind and scored five straight to tie the game 7-7. The second half was packed with more action as the team took back the lead only to see their opponents come back again and take a 13-11 lead with :37 seconds in the game.

The team was not ready to back down as sophomore Gavin Giugno won the face off and senior Shane Esposito scored a goal to bring the game to 13-12. Sophomore Logan Rapuano found senior Niko Millhouse on a beautiful skip pass to tie the game. The teams went into double overtime and sophomore Ben Greenberg scored the goal to secure the final victory.

Coach Kiernan Griffin 2000 noted that each player had outstanding plays and saves throughout the game. The season record is now 2-2 in FAA league play.
