Girls’ Varsity Softball Outhits Opponent

The Girls’ Varsity Softball Team hosted the Frederick Gunn School for an afternoon game on Friday, April 25, winning 14-2.

Taking the field at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex, eighth-grader Caitlin Leslie took the mound for five innings, striking out five players and only allowing two earned runs. At the plate, she had one hit, one run, and one RBI.

Other player highlights include freshman Chloe Carling with two hits, three runs, a home run into center field, and four RBIs and senior Summer Krajcir with two hits and two RBIs and a home run in the third inning to center field. Sophomore Rylee Sweeney had one hit and one earned walk, and freshman Hana Vining had one run, one hit, and one RBI.

The Lady Hornets stay home for a game against Greenwich Country Day School on Monday, April 28, at 4:30 p.m.
