The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team traveled to St. Luke’s School for an afternoon game on Thursday, April 24, winning 6-4.
It was a battle between the Hornets and the Storm as junior Amato Civitello took the mound as starting pitcher, striking out six players over four innings. Junior Billy Cole closed out the game with one earned hit and six strike outs.
At the plate, sophomore Jey Scanlon went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Junior Nic Scilla went 2-for-3 with two hits and one RBI. Senior Logan Charboneau had one hit, one run, and two RBIs as fellow senior Carlos Reyes had one hit and two RBIs and Atticus Bird had one double and two hits.
Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 8-4 for the season and 8-2 in FAA League play.
The team returns to the field for an away game at Avon Old Farms on Monday, April 28, at 4:45 p.m.
