Winter Athletes Recognized

        With the end of March Madness the winter season comes to a conclusion and the Hornet teams each earned a significant degree of success. Under first year coach, Sean Doherty, the Boys Varsity Basketball team won both the Fairchester League regular season and tournament titles before bowing out in the New England quarterfinals. Both the Boys and Girls Swim teams captured CISAC championship trophies and swam well in the States. Wrestling was outstanding at the Derby Invitational and did well in league meets. Girls hoops, despite being riddled by injury, played with remarkable grit and made it all the way to the Fairchester championship game. All in all, another outstanding season for Hornet sports. The team achievements were, in part, the result of numerous outstanding individual efforts. The following list highlights the honors accorded to our student-athletes this winter.  At the time of this story, the Farichester All League selections were not available but will be posted as soon as possible. 

Western New England & New England All Stars:

Girls Basketball: Jenna Berens, HM All New England; Kai Clemons, HM All New England.

Boys Basketball: Byron Breland, All New England; Christian Adams, HM All New England; Andrew Rice, HM All New England.

Swimming: Samuel Lovejoy – 200yd and 500yd Freestyle New England Champion.
