Baseball Blanks GFA

Varsity Baseball opened up its Fairchester League play with a convincing 11-0 win over Greens Farms Academy. The Hornet bats came alive right from the start, grabbing a 2 run lead in the opening frame. Though they only added a single run in the third, the Hornets pounded away for four runs in the sixth and again in the seventh to ease to the win. Safi Wazaz led the hitting parade with a home run and two RBIs. CJ Kuselias hit a double and a triple for two RBIs. Mike Gulia and Billy Gioulos also had two hits apiece. Shaun Hillis had a double and Kalen Gonzales added two RBIs. Meanwhile there was no home cooking for the host Dragons as they were limited to a single hit, while also committing four errors. Ryan Doherty struck out 9 in a dominating performance, and freshman Danny Carbone relieved in the 5th inning and continued to shut GFA down. The Hornets are now 2-0 on the season and play next on Saturday at home vs. Rye.
