Roosevelt "Rosie" Erkard, a Hamden Hall legend, passes.

The Hamden Hall community has lost one of its legendary retired staffers today.

Roosevelt "Rosie" Erkard passed away this morning (Friday, May 12.) We will share more information when we have it.

Rosie retired in June 2006 after nearly two decades of driving our students on his beloved school bus "Number 208!"

Rosie, who lived in McDough, Ga., visited Hamden Hall often during his retirement years.

Rosie, who always wore a genuine smile, was credited by his colleagues as "keeping our children safe" and was dubbed "the real deal."

We extend our sympathies to Rosie's family.
