The artwork of Robert “Robb” Sandagata 1994 and his wife, Emily, is being featured in the Moira Fitzsimmons Arons Art Gallery through June 12. The couple greeted guests at an opening reception May 3. Spirited: Robb and Emily Sandagata includes sculptures, paintings and drawings. According to the artists, “Spirited combines two separate, yet related, bodies of work that reflect the everyday struggles and triumphs of life in the 21st Century.”
Curator, gallery director, and Hamden Hall art faculty Caryn Azoff is excited to showcase the work of the artistic duo.
Ms. Azoff noted that Robb’s nephew, her Hamden Hall art student and sophomore Connor Sandagata, introduced her to his uncle’s work last year. As a result—beyond Spirited in May—some of Robb’s pieces were included in Hamden Hall’s Inaugural Alumni Art Show in Fall 2014. Connor was among the reception guests, proud of his uncle and aunt, and even more pleased that the Robb and Emily were guest lecturing at his art class on May 4.
