At Friday’s Upper School Assembly, varsity athletic team members performed skits to encourage their classmates to attend their respective games. From Girls’ Field Hockey to Boys’ and Girls’ Soccer to Cross Country and Football, students danced, sang, and cheered in support of Homecoming weekend.

Even the Math Team, which is made up of 50 members and is the largest in the Greater New Haven area, took to the stage to generate school spirit for their season. “When I say Math Team, you say radical,” called out Luis Nario-Malberg.

Between September and February, the Math Team will compete in five Varsity matches and three JV contests. Earlier in the week, the team finished third during a competition at Hillhouse High School, scoring 72 points behind Amity’s 77 points and Choate’s 90 points.

Also on hand for the Assembly were alumni, who were observing various milestone reunions including the Class of 1963, which was celebrating its 50th. Other classes represented included the Classes of 1943, 1953, 1958, 1968, and 1978.

Later in the afternoon, the Lower School held its own Homecoming Pep Rally and followed it with fun games and activities for students. Both Peer Leaders and the Varsity team captains helped instill Hornet spirit in the school's youngest students.

On Saturday, alumni ventured to the Skiff Street Athletic Complex to enjoy various sporting contests – many of which were won by Hamden Hall teams. The morning’s 3rd Annual 5K Trail Race was dominated by L. Todd Forselius 1986 for the men and Chloe O'Connell-Ngov 2002 for the women's division. Chloe is now three for three in terms of Hamden Hall’s annual Homecoming trail race!

Children enjoyed various activities throughout the afternoon including a hay ride that took them throughout the complex’s 30 acres, and young and old took delight in a photo booth, donated by the Montano family, that was set up under the Alumni Tent.
