Introducing New Boys Soccer Coach - Tim Hunter
Hamden Hall Country Day School has named Tim Hunter, former UConn star and Pan-American games player, its new varsity soccer coach.
Hunter, who played professionally in the North American Soccer League, will also coach the Middle School “A” team as well. “We are thrilled to have hired such a talented and experienced coach,” Hamden Hall athletic director Bud Kohler said. “Tim has done it all – he’s played professionally in the United States and abroad and is known for his thorough preparation and intense training.” Kohler further noted that both Hunter and Tibbs are also coaches with the South Central Premier soccer program and that Tibbs is involved with the Olympic Development Program.
“With such core staffing, we envision a very successful program for the future of the Hamden Hall soccer program,” Kohler said. In 2008, Hunter was voted among the best midfielders and forwards for his play at Staples High School, from which he graduated in 1971. Hunter has played professional soccer with the Boston Minutemen, Connecticut Bicentennials, Team Hawaii, and the New England Tea Men. He was inducted into the Connecticut State Soccer Hall of Fame in 2004 and the Fairfield County Sports Hall of Fame in 2008.
