Boys’ Varsity Baseball Advances to the NEPSAC Championship

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team competed against St. Luke’s School in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council semifinal game on Tuesday, May 20, winning 7-6 in nine innings.
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team competed against St. Luke’s School in the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council semifinal game on Tuesday, May 20, winning 7-6 in nine innings.

Junior Nic Scilla took the mound as starting pitcher, striking out six players and only allowing three runs on five hits. Junior Billy Cole came in as relief, striking out one player and only allowing three runs on two hits. Junior Amato Civitello closed out the game in the extra two innings, striking out one player and allowing no earned hits or runs.

At the plate, Amato went 2-for-5 with two runs and one double and senior Logan Charboneau went 2-for-4 with four RBIs and one run. Billy had two hits, one run, one RBI, and a stolen base, junior Luca Faulkner had one hit and one RBI, sophomore Jey Scanlon had two runs and two stolen bases, and freshman Grayden Greenberg had one RBI.

The team has now advanced to the NEPSAC Championship game on Friday, May 23, against Hopkins School hosted at Trinity College at 4 p.m. This marks the team's fourth consecutive apperance at the Championship.
