Student-Athletes Earn FAA and NEPSAC Honors

The Fairchester Athletic Association (FAA) and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council (NEPSAC) awards honor and recognize student-athletes for their outstanding performance and commitment to athletics throughout the season. Honors include All-League, All-League Honorable Mentions, All-NEPSAC, All-NEPSAC Honorable Mentions, and more. The following is a summation of notable achievements and accolades earned by our Varsity athletes throughout the course of the 2022-2023 Winter Season.

“I continue to be amazed at what our student-athletes are able to accomplish,” said Director of Athletics David Doyle. “Their commitment and dedication to our school, and athletic program is truly something special.”

Senior Matteo Crisanti earned FAA All-League Honorable Mention and senior Alex Puhl was selected for the FAA All-League 2nd Team and awarded All-NEPSAC Honorable Mention in Boys’ Varsity Basketball. Seniors Rayne Durant, Eveani Okwuosa, and Josie Cancro earned All-NEPSAC Class C and sophomores Emma Olausson, Summer Krajcir, and Payton Collins were awarded All-NEPSAC Class C honorable mentions for Girls’ Varsity Basketball. Rayne and Eveani were also selected for the FAA All-League 1st Team, and Josie was selected for FAA All-League Honorable Mention.

Seniors Evan Huang, Patrick Cucchiarelli, and Isabella Ferneini; juniors Connor Jermain and Mason Rickey; sophomores Eric Huang and Anthony Ferneini; and eighth-graders Zhanna Milani, Jehan Mody and Alessandra Sticca earned All-NEPSAC for Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving. Patrick, Evan, Anthony, Eric, and Jehan also earned FAA All-League and Isabella and Connor earned FAA All-League Honorable Mentions.

Junior Jake Cacace earned FAA All-League Honorable Mention for Varsity Ice Hockey.

Students also earned accolades for the 2022 Fall Season.

Senior Michi Holley and junior Quavier Johnson earned All-NEPSAC and senior Ethan Coady and junior Mark Schoonmaker earned All-NEPSAC honorable mention for Varsity Football.  Ethan, Quavier, Michi, Mark, and sophomore Asher Wasserman also earned FAA All-League and senior Nick Oneto, junior Tyler Gibson, and sophomores Caden Hillier and Qeanu Johnson earned FAA All-League honorable mentions.

Senior Dylan Bettencourt was named to the Western New England Prep School Athletic School Association All-Star team. Junior Alexa Bettencourt earned FAA All-League honorable mention and was named a Western New England All-Star for Girls’ Varsity Soccer. Junior Alex Matthew was named to the Western New England All-Star team. Sophomore Tyrese Cedon earned FAA All-League honorable mention and a CT All-State Award for Boys’ Varsity Soccer. 

Freshman Sofia Cilano earned FAA All-League honorable mention and All-NEPSAC honorable mention for Varsity Volleyball.

Eighth-grader Alexandra Tombaugh earned All-NEPSAC honorable mention for Varsity Field Hockey. 

Patrick Cucchairelli earned All-NEPSAC and Anthony Ferneini earned All-NEPSAC honorable mention for Varsity Water Polo.
