Freshman Collin Roth surprised everyone by winning the CISAC league championship at Bucks Hill Park in Waterbury finishing in a time of 18:20, beating the second place finisher by a huge 14 seconds. The Hornets finished third overall as a team. Loren Dunn (‘15) finished 13th (19:23) and Jack Dowe (’13) finished 14th (19:45) to earn All League status. This is the second time for Jack and the third time for Loren. Connor Roth (’16) finished 16th in a time of 19:56 followed by Kyle Delfini (’15) 22nd 21:18, Ian Norden (’15) 23rd 21:23, Michael Crockett (’15) 25th 21:55, Nate Hill (’15) 30th 22:41 coming off an injury, John D’Angelo (’18) 35th 23:30, Luke El-Fishawy (’18) 36th 23:41, Nick Neumeister (’18) 41st 24:15 and Silas Newman (’13) 46th 25:29.
In the girl’s race Anne-Sophie Neumeister (’16) ran a personal best and earned All League status with a 14th place finish in a time of 24:08. Naomi Chang (’17) 22nd finished in a time of 26:45.
The Hamden Hall Cross Country team ran well on Friday against division III Wilbraham & Monson Academy. The team was lead by Collin Roth ('16) 3rd 18:36. Loren Dunn('15), fighting injuries, ran his best race of the season finishing 4th in 19:03. Jack Dowe ('13) 6th 19:24, Connor Roth ('16) 10th 20:01, Klemens Gowin ('13) 12th 20:40, Kyle Delfini ('15) 13th 21:14, Ian Norden ('15) 14th 21:37, Michael Crockett ('15) 16th 21:39, Silas Newman ('13) 17th 22:16, Luke El-Fishawy ('18) 19th 23:24, John D"Angelo ('18) 19th 23:24. Nick Neumeister ('18) 21st 24:43, Dale Wongwiwat ('15) 23rd 26:10 fi9nished out the boys race. On the girls side, Anne- Sophie Neumeister ('16) finished 5th 25:08, Naomi Chang ('17) 6th 26:20 and Anna Chioda ('16) 9th ran a person best 31:47.

Jack Dowe ('13) 20:25 (27th), Connor Roth ('16) 21:53 (47th), Ian Norden ("15) 22:35 (56th), Kyle Delfini ('15) 22:50 (57th), Silas Newman ('13) 23:42 (63rd) rounded out the varsity race. Michael Crockett ('15) 24:39 (27th) ran strong in the JV race. In the girls race Anne-Sophie Neumeister ('16) 27:25 finished 56th. Naomi Chang ('17) was 63rd in a time of 27:53 and Anna Chiodo ('16) 34:36 (93rd).
The Hamden Hall Varsity Cross Country team tested themselves on Saturday at the 40th annual Canterbury Cross Country Invitational. Running against both Division III and Division IV schools on a challenging course, the team finished a respectable 12th out of 17 teams. The Hornets were lead by Jack Dowe ('13) 19:33 (30th) a personal best, Loren Dunn ('15) 19:46 (41st), Kyle Delfini ('15) 21:37 (74th), Ian Norden ('15) 22:32 (88th) a personal best, Silas Newman ('13) 22:39 (90th), and Michael Crockett ('15) 22:46 (91st).
