Rabinowitz Family Letter

To the Hamden Hall Community,

Our family would like to send a heartfelt thank you for all of the support we received after Benjamin’s diagnosis and throughout his treatment. We appreciate your time, talents, and the efforts put forth to keep connected to the school community. The video messages, cards, songs on the piano, and mystery readers brought much needed smiles to his face.  Zoom meetings allowed him to see his teachers and friends and kept him engaged in the classroom.

Your participation in "PJ Day for the Kids” in support of CCMC was appreciated by the hospital, as well as Ben, who was very proud of his school for wearing pajamas alongside him.  He only spent a few weeks at home over the course of treatment and one highlight was running onto the field with the football team and watching them win the NEPSAC championship! He felt like he was a part of the team and will always remember it.

We would be remiss to not mention our daughter, Vivian, who started Kindergarten this year. Her world was turned upside down when Ben was admitted to the hospital. School served as a constant, where her teachers and classmates were instrumental in supporting her well being.

When Ben received clearance to return to school, he gave a very quick “yessss” to his doctor. He truly missed school and being a part of the amazing community that is Hamden Hall. While excited, he was also apprehensive about going back. That changed when got on a decorated bus that brought him to a school waiting to welcome him and cheer him on.  The signs, high fives, bubbles, balloons, “Ben Rabinowitz” day, and pool party were wonderful.

This past year has really shown us what a special place Hamden Hall is and we are grateful to be a part of it. We thank you and wish you a wonderful summer!
