Public Service Start for Jacqueline Goldman 2011

Jacqueline Goldman, Class of 2011, was recently elected to the Rhode Island Senate District Five Committee.

Calling the post a “minor political office,” Jackie explained that in Rhode Island each state senate and house district have a committee of elected individuals who advocate on behalf of their constituents and vote on endorsements for future primaries. Her term began in November 2020.

Jackie maintained that she has been able to build community as a result of both living in the Providence area and getting involved through politics. She added that she’s hoping for a “bigger office in the future, but it's a start.”

A project manager at the Brown University School of Public Health, Jackie performs overdose prevention research. After leaving Hamden Hall, Jackie attended and graduated from the University of Wisconsin and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Hindi language. She earned a Master’s of Science in epidemiology from Brown University in 2019.

As for her alma mater, Jackie credited the faculty for their continued support throughout her time under the pines. Specifically, Jackie noted Mrs. Bratt, Mr. Iampietro, and Dr. Negri as mentors who went above and beyond.

“In addition to the friends and lifelong connections, Hamden Hall provided me with an environment that allowed me to learn about who I was. I also was given the resources that I needed to succeed in school both during my time at Hamden Hall and after,” she said.
