Alessandro “Sandro” Gasparro 2008 Works with LA Clippers

Jodi Amatulli
Alessandro “Sandro” Gasparro, Class of 2008, is going at a clip with his new job in Los Angeles.
Sandro is enjoying his first year as the director of social media for the LA Clippers, an American professional basketball team based in Los Angeles. The Clippers compete in the National Basketball Association as a member of Pacific Division of the league's Western Conference.
Sandro’s team of workers is tasked with telling the Clippers' story online—Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, etc. He and his colleagues also work with players on their personal social media presences. They produce short form and long form video content, graphics, and original photography for the team.
“The most exciting part of my job is being around the team every day,” Sandro says. “The Clippers are positioning themselves to hopefully be one of the best teams in the NBA over the next few seasons. They have also defied expectations this season, winning almost 50 games and making the playoffs despite most predictions pinning them around 34 wins.”
Sandro headed to the west coast after working in New York City for a few years after college. He earned a degree in sports management from the University of Michigan in 2012.
Sandro worked for Michigan’s athletic department from 2012 to 2014, the Philadelphia 76ers from 2014 to 2015, and Endeavor, a major innovator in modern-day sports marketing, from 2015 to 2018.
As for his new landscape, Sandro says, “Life in LA is great. It's my first time on the west coast. The weather is perfect and the food is incredible. That's all I really need.”
Sandro is the son of Hamden Hall faculty member Frank Gasparro and Dr. Paula Bevilacqua, and brother of Marco Gasparro, Class of 2011.
