Thomas E. Brown, Ph.D., Past Parent and Former Hamden Hall Consulting Psychologist
Thomas E. Brown, Ph.D., of Hawthorne, Calif., died at home on August 18 from a recent debilitating illness.
Thomas is survived by his alumna daughter, Liza Brown Somilleda, Hamden Hall Class of 1990, his son, David Brown, grandchildren, and extended family.
Thomas, a clinical psychologist who received his Ph.D. from Yale University, specialized in assessment & treatment of high-IQ children, adolescents and adults with ADHD and related problems. He was a consulting psychologist at Hamden Hall from 1979 through 2017. For over 30 years, Dr. Brown maintained an independent clinical practice in Hamden. After serving on the clinical faculty of the Yale Medical School for 20 years, he relocated to California. He was an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California. He went on to the position of Clinical Professor of Psychiatry & Neuroscience, at the University of California, Riverside School of Medicine, and was the director of his own clinic, the Brown Clinic for Attention and Related Disorders in Manhattan Beach, Calif.
