Mary Louise Thetford, Past Parent and Former Hamden Hall Librarian
Mary Louise Thetford, of Florida, died peacefully on August 20 at an assisted living facility in Venice, Florida, at the age of 80.
Mary is survived by her husband of 59 years, Norman, her daughter, Hamden Hall alumna, Christine Thetford Durst, Class of 1994, and extended family.
Mary earned a doctoral degree in English Education and a Masters in Library Science. She taught English at several colleges and universities in both New Jersey and Connecticut. While her daughter Christine attended Hamden Hall, Mary worked as a librarian at Hamden Hall and loved being part of the community.
