2021 Alumna to Focus on Healthcare Career

Class of 2021 alumna and Lifer Jessica Stanley graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in kinesiology.
During her time in undergrad, Jessica was quite busy as she worked as a teaching assistant and as a physical and developmental disabilities coach for children and adolescents. Last summer, she completed research at the University of Pittsburgh. The research focused on creating an antidote for carbon monoxide poisoning and research at the human engineering research labs focused on assessing the satisfaction of female veterans regarding their assistive technology.

Jessica was the recipient of the Fraley Award, which is bestowed to the undergraduate student in the senior class from each department who has first and foremost excelled academically in the classroom; demonstrating curiosity, maturity, creativity, motivation, and intellect. She was chosen as the Senior Marshal, which is given to a graduating senior who demonstrated the highest levels of scholarship, service to the campus community, extracurricular involvement, and personal growth.

Jessica noted that she will be continuing her education in graduate school beginning in August 2026 with the goal to receive her doctorate in occupational therapy school.

Currently, she  is working as an Observational Associate at Yale New Haven Hospital and a Brain Injury Residential Rehab Tech at Gaylord Specialty Healthcare.
