Nursing Career on the Horizon for 2021 Alumna
Class of 2021 alumna Isabella “Bella” Mecca graduated from Endicott College with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing.
During her time at Endicott, Bella was a Dean’s List student while completing a rigorous nursing program. She gained invaluable hands-on experience at several of Boston’s top hospitals, including Boston Children’s Hospital and Mass General Hospital. During her winter breaks and summer breaks, she worked at Hartford Hospital as a CNA in the Neurology Trauma Unit.
Outside of academics, she volunteered her time at local food shelters, participated in campus open houses, and played lacrosse during her freshman year before deciding to focus fully on her passion for nursing. When she was not studying or in clinicals, Bella said she loved spending time with her friends and going to the beach.
Bella noted how Hamden Hall provided a strong foundation and helped prepare her for the academic challenges ahead when heading to college. On a more exciting note, Bella recently passed the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX) and is thrilled to be starting her nursing career as a transplant nurse at Yale New Haven Health.
“I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences and support I’ve had along the way—from Hamden Hall to Endicott,” said Bella. “I can’t wait to begin this next chapter!”
