2022 Alumnus Golfs to Victory

Class of 2022 alumnus and senior at the University of Virginia Ben James competed in The Walker Cup as a member of Team USA.
The Walker Cup took place on September 6-7 at the Cypress Point Club in Pebble Beach, Calif. Ben defeated his opponent 2&1 in the singles match and helped Team USA win in a commanding 17-9 victory. The Walker Cup is a 10-man amateur team competition between the USA and Great Britain and Ireland played every other year.
 
This marked Ben’s second appearance in the event as he previously represented the USA on the victorious 2023 Walker Cup Team at St. Andrews in Scotland.
 
Ben is #1 in the PGA Tour University Rankings and the Number 2 player in the World Amateur Golf Ranking.
