Eleanor M. Russell, Class of 1953
Eleanor Russell, Class of 1953 alumni, died on June 17, at her home in Shelburne, Vermont, surrounded by her family. She was 90.
Eleanor was predeceased by her Hamden Hall alumni siblings, Kenneth Russell, Class of 1951, and Wilma Russell Merrill, Class of 1957. She is survived by her extended family and lifelong and community friends.
After graduating from Hamden Hall, she earned a BS in medical technology from Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire. She earned her Master's from University of Vermont in 1976. She became administrative director of the hospital laboratories and chairperson of the Medical Technology Department at UVM, while also serving as an assistant professor until her retirement in 1992.
Hamden Hall extends condolences to Eleanor's family and friends. A celebration of life will be held at the Charlotte Senior Center, 212 Ferry Road on Saturday, July 11. from 2-6 p.m. Refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to 978-460-1752.
