Boys’ Varsity Baseball Advances to the New England Championship

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team traveled to The University of Saint Joseph in West Hartford for the semifinal game of the New England Tournament against Berwick Academy on Wednesday, May 20, winning 10-0.
Senior and starting pitcher Billy Cole took the mound, striking out five players and only allowing two hits over five innings. Junior AJ Park closed out the game, only allowing one hit in the sixth inning.

At the plate, Billy went 1-for-4 with two runs and one stolen base as senior Amato Civitello went 2-for-4 with one double, one RBI, and one stolen base, and junior Sam Castro went 3-for-4 with one RBI and three hits. Seniors Luca Faulkner and Nic Scillia each had one RBI; junior Leo Dottori had two RBIs; junior Brian Anderson had one triple, two RBIs; and junior Jey Scanlon had one RBI and two runs.

The team will travel to Springfield College to compete against The Winchendon School for the Championship title on Friday, May 22, at 4 p.m.
