Powerhouse Win for Boys’ Varsity Baseball
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team traveled to Rye Country Day School for an afternoon game on Monday, May 4, winning 10-0 in a shut-out performance.
Senior and starting pitcher Billy Cole took the mound for the Hornets, striking out five players and allowing no earned hits or runs through six innings.
At the plate, Billy went 2-for-3 with one RBI, one stolen base, and two runs on two hits as fellow senior Nic Scillia had one triple, two doubles, and one RBI. Senior Amato Civitello had one RBI and three stolen bases; junior Sam Castro had one double and one stolen base, one RBI, and one run; junior Brian Anderson had three RBIs and three runs on two hits; and juniors Leo Dottotori and Jey Scanlon both had one RBI.
The team returns to the field for a home game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex against Rye Country Day School in a rematch on Thursday, May 7, at 4:30 p.m. The team will also be celebrating its senior players.
