Rivalry Takedown for Boys’ Varsity Baseball
The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team welcomed Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Hopkins School for a home game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Thursday, April 16, winning 9-1.
Junior and starting pitcher Brian Anderson took the mound for the Hornets, striking out four players and only allowing one run on four hits through six innings. Freshman Drew Anderson closed out the game and allowed no earned runs in the seventh inning.
At the plate, senior and captain Amato Civitello went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBIs, and two runs as freshman Chase Doyle went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and one run. Senior Billy Cole had a double, one RBI, and one run, junior Sam Castro had one RBI and one run, and junior Leo Dottori had a double and one run.
Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the record is now 11-2 for the season and 7-1 in FAA League play.
The team travels to the Canterbury School for an away non-league game on Friday, April 17, at 4:30 p.m.
