Boys’ Varsity Baseball Stays Winning on the Diamond

The Boys’ Varsity Baseball Team hosted The Taft School for a non-league game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex on Saturday, April 4, winning 7-1.
Junior Brian Anderson took the mound as the starting pitcher, striking out three players and only allowing one hit. Junior AJ Park came in for the third inning, striking out four players and allowing one run. Senior Billy Cole closed out the game and struck out five players while giving up no earned runs or hits.

At the plate, Billy went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base as junior Sam Castro got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, three stolen bases, and four runs. Senior Amato Civitello had a double, senior Nic Scillia had two hits, and freshman Chase Doyle had one hit and one run.

Coach Brad Chernovetz noted that the team record is now 6-0 overall and 4-0 in FAA league play.

The team stays home at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex for a game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival St. Luke’s School on Tuesday, April 7, at 4 p.m.
