Split Meet Win for Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving
The Co-ed Varsity Swimming and Diving Team hosted Hopkins School and Williams School for a dual meet at the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium on Wednesday, February 4, with both the Boys’ and Girls’ Teams winning against Williams.
For the Boys’ Team, seniors Cam Pulh, Tyler Tagliarini, Jacki Shi, and freshman Blake Zeitlin placed second in both the 200-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 1:48.63 and the 400-Yard Freestyle Relay with a time of 3:38.24. Tyler placed first in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:01.68 and first in the 100-Yard Backstroke with a time of 58.99. Eighth-grader Leo Spiegel placed second in the 100-Yard Butterfly with a time of 1:12.26 and eighth-grader Leo Connors placed third in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:42.04.
For the Girls’ Team, junior Alessandra Sticca, sophomore Josephine Nicotra, freshman Rosemary White, and eighth-grader Arianna Angarita placed second in the 200-Yard Medley Relay with a time of 2:07.01. Rosemary placed first in the 200-Yard IM with a time of 2:26.24 and sophomore Angelina Nicotra placed first in the 100-Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:00.11. Seventh-grader Cassidy Clapp placed first in the 200-Yard Freestyle with a time of 2:14.25 and third in the 500-Yard Freestyle with a time of 5:59.56.
The Boys’ Team record is now 6-2 overall and the Girls’ Team is now 7-2 overall.
“The competitive energy on deck reflected the team’s growth and resilience as the season continues to build toward postseason competition,” said Coach Jen Lyman. “The excitement, effort, and team spirit displayed against Hopkins and Williams set the tone for a strong finish, as the program looks to celebrate its seniors and carry momentum into the next phase of the season.”
The team returns to the pool to celebrate senior night at the Beckerman Athletic Center Natatorium on Saturday, February 7, at noon, with the meet against Holy Child School, Sacred Heart Greenwich, Greenwich Country Day School, and Marianapolis School.
