Overtime Win for Boys’ Varsity Basketball
The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team traveled for an away game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Hopkins School on Wednesday, December 10, winning 60-52 in overtime.
Taking the court, it was a back-and-forth battle between the Hornets and the Hilltoppers throughout the entire game. Top point scorers included senior and captain Amato Civitello, juniors Christian Cournoo and Eli Kingsley. The game ended with a 47-47 tie before going into overtime where Amato landed a three pointer at the buzzer to secure the team’s final victory.
“Great overtime road win for the Hornets as the players made the big plays when needed,” said Coach Sean Doherty. “
The team returns to the court for its first home game of the season at the Beckerman Athletic Center against Harvey School on Saturday, December 13, at 3:30 p.m.
