Boys’ Varsity Basketball Victorious in Season Opener
The Boys’ Varsity Basketball Team opened its season with an away game against Watkinson School on Friday, December 5, winning 61-40.
Taking the court, sophomore JT Huckaby netted 15 points as junior Christian Cournoo netted 11 points. Senior and captain Amato Civitello added eight points to the scoreboard for the Hornets as sophomores Jack Cohen and Daniel Vincent netted a combined 15 points.
“In our first game, everyone played hard and it resulted in a good team win,” said Christian. “There is still a lot of room to improve, but it was a good start to the season.”
Coach Sean Doherty noted that the team came with great energy throughout the game, and every player had the chance to contribute to the win.
The team returns to the court for an away game against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival Hopkins School on Wednesday, December 10, at 6 p.m.
