Hornets Still Looking for Team Win; Massey Twins Prevail
The Hamden Hall Girls Varsity Team suffered another loss, this time to Pomfret at home. Though many of the girls played strong matches (notable were Chrissy Lifton, playing at #2 singles, showing great determination and skill to come up from a 1-6 loss in the first set to lose very narrowly 5-7 in the second set). Janie Motter valiantly held her own, playing some great points at #1 singles, a spot usually taken by captain Averi Schwartz, and Shin-Hae Lee and Maddie Belt, numbers 3 and 4 respectively, also played wonderfully determined singles, taking virtually every game to deuce. The sole win was by the Dynamic Duo- Hamden Hall's winning sister act, Morgan and Taylor Massey, who absolutely dominated their match at #1 doubles, winning 6-2, 6-2. The Hornets face Hopkins this Monday, April 26th- we're hoping some of that Massey magic is contagious!
