Tough Match For the Hornets

Hamden Hall fought valiantly against a very tough opponent, Convent of the Sacred Heart. Though the Hormets failed to pick up even one set, there were many great points played. Notable were sophomore Summer Irving, who played very well in her first-ever varsity match with doubles partner Chelsea Fusco. Sophomore Chrissy Lifton elevated her already strong play in her second set and won two games. The closest match of the day was at number one doubles. Hamden Hall's twin tandem team, Morgan and Taylor Massey, came close to taking the first set (they lost 4-6) and hung in there for a 2-6 loss in the second. Both sets featured powerful rallies and several brilliant points. The team is now setting its sights on the Pomfret match this Saturday at the BAC. Despite the loss, the girls are playing the best tennis they've played all season.
