Baby News for Class of 2007 Alumna

As excited as Bill Hunter was to become a 2025 honoree into the esteemed Perennial Pines Society on September 28, he was even prouder to announce that he was a grandfather.

His daughter, Class of 2007 alumna Joycelin Hunter and her partner, David Quitanilla, gave birth to Joaquin Hunter Quintanilla on June 1 at Virginia Commonwealth University Hospital (VCU Health). The family lives in Richmond, Va.

Before Richmond, the couple lived in São Paulo, Brazil, for four years where Joycelin was an associate division head at a project-based learning school called Avenues. She is currently head of teaching and learning at US Performance Academy, which is a school for elite athletes. David works remotely, managing the video team at a tech company called Zapier.
