Dr. Henry C. Lee, Internationally Acclaimed Forensic Scientist & Grandparent of Alumnus

World-renowned Forensic Scientist Dr. Henry C. Lee, died peacefully on March 27. He was 87. He was the grandfather of Hamden Hall alumnus, Alexander Lee, Class of 2022.
Dr. Lee leaves behind a remarkable legacy. He was a distinguished professor at the University of New Haven for more than 50 years and former Commissioner of Connecticut Public Safety. In 1998, he founded the Henry C. Lee Institute of Forensic Science. 

Throughout his legendary career, Dr. Lee has served as a forensics expert in all 50 states and more than 46 countries, and has lectured in more than 70 countries. He has been a consultant for 600 law enforcement agencies and has testified more than 1,000 times in both criminal and civil courts in the United States and abroad. In his final days, Dr. Lee was finalizing a book regarding missing-persons investigations, which will be published in the near future. He has authored or co-authored more than 40 books. Throughout his career, he provided investigative assistance in some of high-profile cases, including the re-investigation of the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
