Boys’ Varsity Soccer Slides to Victory
The Boys’ Varsity Soccer Team traveled for an away game against Harvey School on Wednesday, September 23, winning 4-2.
Senior and forward Anton Cruz had two goals and one assist as fellow senior Leo Dottori also scored two goals with one assist for the Hornets. Senior Yavuz Nugay had one assist and dominated on the defense as junior Jack Ginnetti netted one goal in the second half.
Other player highlights include sophomore Jayden Lin scoring his first Varsity goal while freshman Sam Moore and sophomore Ahsin Johnson played well on both defense and offense.
“It felt great to get a win; we are a young team overall and we keep improving every day,” said Coach Michael Moore. “I would also like to give a big shout out to my gem of an assistant who is all in and really helps in all aspects of coaching, Coach Charles Khuen. We look forward to getting better day by day and putting in the work.”
The team returns to the field for a home game at the Skiff Street Athletic Complex against Fairchester Athletic Association League rival St. Luke’s School on Tuesday, September 29, at 4:30 p.m.
